Mango Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how The Whaleford Company LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use Mango (the “App”) and related services (collectively, the “Services”).

2. Information We Collect

We collect information in three ways: information you provide, information collected automatically, and information from optional permissions or integrations.

A. Information You Provide

When you create an account or use Mango, you may provide:

  • Email address
  • Username or display name
  • Profile information (such as profile photo or bio)
  • Content you create (tasks, posts, comments, messages, group activity)
  • Feedback, bug reports, or support requests

B. Information Collected Automatically

When you use the App, we and our service providers may automatically collect:

  • Device information (model, operating system, app version)
  • Unique identifiers (such as device identifiers and advertising ID)
  • Log and diagnostic data (IP address, crash reports, timestamps)
  • Usage data (features used, screens viewed, interactions)

This information helps us operate, secure, and improve Mango.

C. Contacts Permission (Optional Feature)

If you choose to enable friend discovery features, Mango may request access to your device contacts. If granted:

  • Contact information is used only to help you find and connect with people you know
  • You can revoke access at any time through your device settings
  • Mango does not use contacts for advertising or sale to third parties

D. Other Device Permissions

Mango may request access to certain device features only if you use related functionality:

  • Camera or photo library (for profile photos or uploads)
  • Microphone (for features that require audio)
  • Push notifications (for account activity and updates)

3. Sensitive Information

Mango is not designed to collect sensitive personal data such as precise location, biometric data, government IDs, or health records. Please avoid posting sensitive information in public areas of the app.


4. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Provide and operate the Services
  • Enable social features and communication between users
  • Improve app performance and reliability
  • Maintain safety, security, and abuse prevention
  • Respond to support requests
  • Send important service notifications
  • Display advertising through Google AdMob (see Section 6)

5. Legal Bases for Processing (EEA/UK)

If you are in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, we process information under:

  • Contract (to provide the Services)
  • Legitimate interests (to operate and improve Mango)
  • Consent (for optional permissions and certain advertising settings)
  • Legal obligations (when required)

6. Advertising (Google AdMob)

Mango displays ads using Google AdMob to support the Service.

AdMob may collect and use information such as:

  • Device identifiers and advertising ID
  • IP address
  • App interaction data related to ads
  • Approximate location derived from IP or device settings

AdMob may use this data to deliver contextual ads and, where permitted, personalized ads.

Ad Choices

You can control ad personalization through your device settings:

Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads
iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking / Apple Advertising

Opting out may reduce personalization but will not eliminate ads.


7. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information for money.

We may share information only as necessary to operate Mango:

Service Providers

We use trusted providers to run the app, including services for:

  • Authentication and cloud storage
  • Messaging, feeds, and groups
  • Search functionality
  • Crash reporting and analytics
  • Advertising (AdMob)

These providers process data only on our behalf.

Other Users

Because Mango is a social platform:

  • Your profile and content may be visible to other users depending on your activity
  • Messages are visible to conversation participants
  • Group activity is visible to group members

Legal and Safety

We may disclose information to comply with law, enforce our Terms, or protect users and the public.

Business Transfers

Information may be transferred if Mango is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.


8. International Transfers

Mango operates from the United States. Information may be transferred to and processed in the U.S. and other countries where our providers operate.


9. Data Retention

We retain information only as long as necessary to:

  • Provide the Services
  • Maintain safety and security
  • Comply with legal obligations

When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your information where reasonably possible.


10. Security

We implement reasonable safeguards to protect information. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.


11. Children’s Privacy

Mango is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us and we will take appropriate action.


12. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict your personal information.

We may update this Privacy Policy. If we make material changes, we may notify you through the App or by other means.
